Overview
Manufacturing and Design Engineering essentials is a course on how to use industrial designing software for various applications. This class is suitable for anyone who has little to no background with Mechanical Design or manufacturing Software. The course will walk you through the basics of the software to advance level, show you how to create 2D drawings, 3D parts and 2D sheets when used in conjunction with any project management tool. From here you will go on to discover what tools you need, how to work with different materials, and learn about the various prototyping techniques that exist.
As part of the Manufacturing and Design Role, Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing is a pivotal skill. Dimensional engineering has evolved in recent decades from the days of arbitrary dimensions, reference lines, and general tolerances to that of a more scientific, geometric approach. This transition has been driven by R&D, manufacturing economics, and more importantly, product safety. Improved on-line GSD training will help manufacturers reduce risk throughout their product development life cycle. GDT Training Courses offers one-on-one online computer based GDT product training for both new users as well as experienced users. The product can be used as a transitional tool between standard manual GDT to computer based GDT (CBDT). It is written in plain language with many examples and easy to understand video presentations. Machine shops regularly use this information to reduce scrap and rework costs. Some aerospace companies also use this material as a refresher before going on to CBDT. Along with the training they offer customizable solutions to large manufacturing companies by providing in person or webinar GDT training plus translating their existing procedures into an easy to understand format and providing custom written checklists.

The Product Design Essentials package is designed to teach users the essentials of using a selected CAD software application. The learning path will take you through a fundamental understanding of the user interface and basic functions, creating a sketch, working with part models, assemblies and other essential topics.
The Advanced Topic package provides access to all the remaining CAD topics in your selected software. This will include specialized and advanced topics such as MBD, Routing, Simulation and others. In addition, you will be able to access our popular industry topics listed in the chart below. Finally, you will gain access to our FEA Fundamentals course for refresher on the topic. In addition, you will be provided access to our interactive Foundations of GDT course.
