Learn how to use 3DEXPERIENCE CATIA Part Design Engineering Software Application while learning the basics of plastic part de more...sign. You will learn how navigate 3DEXPERIENCE CATIA user interface as well as the Part Design application features and commands such as Sketch, Splines, Shaft, Pocket, Pad, Draft, Edge Fillets, Stiffeners, Rectangular Pattern, and Geometric Set. You will then apply them to create a plastic drill body part while learning the basics of plastic design such as draft, structure, and designing with tooling and manufacturing in mind. This course is part of a continuing series that will then move to a basic surface course that will add more features to the same plastic drill body created in this course.

 4 hrs.    

Prerequisites

3DEXPERIENCE CATIA 100 Essentials foe New Users or anyone with a basic understanding of any CAD software wanting to learn 3DEXPERIENCE CATIA.

Overview
This course explores the tools and methodologies of the V6 Functional Modeling Part workbench. These tools are used to devel more...op molded parts, typically plastics, incorporating the features common to those types of parts; these features include shelled housings, internal / external material (relative to core and cavity geometry), ribs, reinforcements, bosses, pockets, rests, holes, and others. The features are defined in an easily- modifiable, independent fashion, as compared to the sequential Part Design methods. Dressup features such as drafts and fillets are typically defined on each independent feature, allowing for easier replacement when needed. These tools are intended to improve the development and modification processes of molded- type parts.

 8 hrs.    

Prerequisites

A strong familiarity with solid part creation methods using Part Design.
