Solid Edge v19 Part Modeling
Overview:
This course will provide insight into effective model creation and the advantages of solid modeling such as the ability to analyze the model (weight, volume, and moment of inertia for a solid body). Other advantages are the capability to create feature-based models and parameters, capturing design intent while modeling and then embedding this information as you construct a model. Comprehend how to create/edit reference planes for your model by familiarizing yourself with default reference planes, default reference plane size, coincident planes, parallel planes, angled and perpendicular planes. Define shapes with base profiles and protrusion/revolved protrusion then advance with using closed profiles, nested profiles, open profiles, constraints (automatic constraint, horizontal-vertical constraint, collinear constraint, tangent constraint ), and dimensions (smart dimension, dimension between, driving/driven dimension). Further enhance your skills in profile creation with different techniques for quickly creating curves (ellipse, construction curves), constraints (concentric constraint, parallel constraint, perpendicular constraint, equal constraint) and dimensions (angle between dimension, coordinate dimension). Understand how to create features with the processes of defining planes, placing profiles, defining side step, extents and treatment options (draft treatment, crown treatment). Add material to a solid utilizing ribs, web network, protrusions (revolved) or remove material with holes, cutouts with extent options (finite extent, from/to extent, through next extent, through all extent). Further advance to creating treatment features (draft, rounds, chamfers), thin features (thin wall, thin region) or lip features (edge/corner, chain). Expedite the building of your model with feature patterning (smart and fast pattern, rectangular pattern, circular pattern), copies and mirroring. Lastly, learn to modify, edit, suppress, insert or reorder features for model modifications. Practice your newly gained knowledge with projects that test your skills in Creating Reference Planes, Basic Profile Creation, Advanced Profile Creation, Creating Features, Treatment Features and Pattern Features. Upon completion of this course, you'll have all the tools you need to start creating your own part models.
