Teamcenter NX CAD Integration 14.1x
Overview:
This course is designed for users who work NX in a Teamcenter integrated environment. The following topics are covered: Searching in NX, Creating NX Parts, Saving NX Parts, Creating Assemblies, Check In / Check Out, Working with Assemblies, Visual Reporting, Advanced Integration Tools, and Integration Preferences.
The standard workflow for many companies, particularly OEMs, is to initially create empty component and part structures in Teamcenter. Once the structure and Items are designed, the respective Item Revisions or Datasets are opened in NX and model and assembly design is started. The geometry in NX is then saved back into Teamcenter. When using this workflow, the NX file based part data can be concurrently associated to the Item Revision while creating the Teamcenter Structure. This strategy with Teamcenter integration allows companies to better manage the design environment, products, and product attributes in a top down manner.
Alternatively, the reverse of the workflow above can be employed. Designers initially create component and assembly design in NX and then save them to Teamcenter. During the save process, the CAD data can be associated to existing Teamcenter Item structures or that structure can be created from scratch. Another reason to use this second workflow is for importing legacy file based components and assemblies. Companies can use this method to import existing file based models into Teamcenter.
After completing this course users will understand how to use the NX Teamcenter environment for their company's respective methods.
